The InDuct adds both a larger volume to the whole air intake configuration as well as connecting the two pieces together to force all of the available pressurized air directly into the air box ("Ram-Air"). This allows more air to be available to the entire intake equation. (The tests show the ability to get a maximum air flow measurement reading of 4 inches of water at a speed of 100 miles/hour measured from the inside of the air box.)
